Friday Night Live

One of the scariest and proudest moments of my life was when in 2014 when I was shortlisted to read 500 words of my book in front of about 200 people. It was for the Festival of Writing in York.

There was a 5 minute cut-off point, and for some reason this made me really paranoid, so I read my extract really quickly, and I over-gesticulated to the point where I must've looked like a crazy person. I didn't win, but it did lead to me landing an agent, and I'm proud I did it.
